He started his apprenticeship\u00a0<br \/>in 1862 with Charles Claude Nicolas Husson.\u00a0<br \/>In 1868, he joined Gautrot&#8217;s workshop in Ch\u00e2teau Thierry, where he met Fran\u00e7ois Nicolas Voirin. In 1876,\u00a0<br \/>he came to Paris to work with Fran\u00e7ois Nicolas Voirin, whose assistant he had become. In 1885,\u00a0<br \/>at the death of Fran\u00e7ois Nicolas Voirin, he started his own workshop.
