A very fine French silver mounted cello bow by Roger Fran\u00e7ois Lotte with Raffin certicate .ca 1970.
One of the finest cello bows we have seen made by this maker.<\/p>\n

Fran\u00e7ois Lotte was one of the great French bow makers the 20th century.<\/p>\n

Silver mounted ivory frog, and one-piece silver button.<\/p>\n

The round stick is dark brown and is made of first class pernambuco, a strong but flexible bow with a great balance.<\/p>\n

A very elegant and fine executed head.<\/p>\n

This bow is in a good condition, ready to play.<\/p>\n

A good professional bow with strong tone production, plenty of detail..
The total length of the stick is around 69,1 cm and the weight of the bow is 79 gr.<\/p>\n

Roger Fran\u00e7ois Lotte<\/strong>\u00a0(b. 1922 – d. 1989) was French\u00a0archetier\u00a0and\u00a0bow maker, son of\u00a0Fran\u00e7ois Lotte\u00a0and\u00a0Marguerite Ouchard.<\/div>\n

Roger studied the art of bow making with his father and took over his shop around 1960. He made bows for: George Deblaye, Dupuy, L\u00e9on Mougenot,\u00a0\u00c9tienne Vatelot, Roger & Max Millant and\u00a0Bernard Millant<\/a>\u00a0amongst others. His best bows made entirely by himself are stamped: Roger Fran\u00e7ois Lotte and sometimes Roger Lotte.[1]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0“Some of the bows from 1965-1970 mounted in gold\/tortoise-shell are stunning”.[2]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n
